How Weft Twining is Done
The accompanying illustrations will help to explain how weft twining is made. The technique differs when the weaver is using a loom for larger pieces than in the smaller, off-loom type. The loom lies horizontally on the ground, tightly stretched on rods which are braced by stakes. The weaver, as in other ground-loom weaving, sits in front of or on top of the piece in progress, working away from herself.
